WBAI is excited to (re)introduce The Force of Lawyers Against Sexual Harassment (FLASH) to our members.
FLASH is a task force of Illinois legal professionals and bar associations united to combat the presence of sexism, sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual assault in the Illinois legal community through direct advocacy, policy, implementation, education, and peer support.
FLASH is made up of board members who are representatives from other bar associations. FLASH board members work together to foster and create a safe professional environment for all Illinois legal professionals while adopting a zero-tolerance approach to topics such as sexism, sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Respect and intersectionality within professional environments are objectives that we heavily focus on.
FLASH’s main event is Happy Hour in Her Heels, which debuted as a success in 2024. We encouraged men to arrive wearing heels to acknowledge sex-based violence and discrimination in the workplace. All proceeds were donated to WINGS, Illinois’ largest domestic violence service provider of housing & integrated services to adults and children escaping abuse.
FLASH is available to give presentations to bar associations or other groups to further our mission and goals.
